A, mangium yielded 22, 23 and 33 genotypes at Gdh-I whereas A.auriculiformis yielded only 11 genotype at Gdh-I. Hybrids betweenthe two species can be identified as 12 or 13 genotypes at Gdh-I. So far only 12 Gdh-I hybrids have been detected. The gene for Gdh-I was expressed in callus tissues, seed leaves, juvenile bipinnate leaves, mature phyllodes and inner bark tissues which allows identification of hybrids at any development stage.
