Still physically 30 years old she appears from a bright white light on a remote section of Highway 45 in present day. It's a doorway between the earth plain and a parallel plain on the Continuum. The woman is heavily pregnant, abnormally so and due to give birth. Luckily, she appears just as highway patrolman, Ewan Teal is returning from his shift. He takes her in his cruiser to the town's hospital where she gives birth , with the help of the town's veterinarian, to something strange, a freak of nature, but whose nature? The delivery team are unaware though that the infant's father has followed the mother though in to this world and is determined to take his son home by whatever means.
