Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Law Quarterly Review, 1895, Vol. 11 Why are we receiving no more Year Books from Mr. Pike? The Introduction to his last volume was dated in August, 1891, and his previous exploits had led us to hope that we were to have at least one volume a year. We must ask him to remember that he is uniquely competent to carry on the work that he has admirably begun. He must forgive us if we say that even his interesting book on the House of Lords will not excuse him in the eyes of posterity if he abandons the important task on which he entered. The series in which his volumes have appeared is published under the direction of the Master of the Rolls.' We hope that the Master of the Rolls will forthwith direct that the publication of the Year Books shall go forward with all convenient speed, and shall not be suspended, at all events so long as there are any reports of the fourteenth century that have never been printed.
