Moreover, under the foregoing ideas which have taken possession of him, the Mormon will submit to a severer self - discipline than will a man in whose life no such ideas are present. He is far advanced in the spirit of the ruling principle one sees in the life of Christ, and which is represented in the words, Father, not my will, but thine be done. He is prepared to act with his fellows in the interest of the community, even at the sacrifice of what may be personal to him. There is bound to be in the aggregation of such units a strong community sentiment, resulting in mutual helpfulness that can scarcely fail to make them successful.
