Book excerpt: The dictionary defines the word intelligence as the capacity for learning, reasoning, understanding and similar forms of mental activity; aptitude in grasping truths, relationships, facts, meanings. The Intelligence Quotient (IQ) relates to an individual's level of intelligence relative to other people. Most IQ charts consider scores around 100 as average with about 95% of the population scoring between 70 and 130. There is some debate as to the accuracy of IQ testing, as intelligence is multifaceted and there is also emotional intelligence. However as a means of assessing the fluidity and alertness of an individuals mind, the logic based IQ test can be valuable. This publication presents a sixty-part test based on classic IQ test variations which include mathematical, logical, verbal and conceptual tasks. Instructions, samples and a by-age scoring table is provided. The test is not intended for professional use. Results can vary greatly according to concentration levels and external circumstances.
