One of the technological breakthroughs that happened for communication is the use of fiber optic networks. The use of these networks are in high demand when the requirements are high speed and large bandwidth for transmitting large amount of data from user to user. One of several problems that come up while using these networks is crosstalk. Crosstalk can cause distortion in a system and create many problems in how that system operates. In this graduate project, crosstalk will be displayed in a WDM network and filtering cascading will be used to show that it is a way to reduce crosstalk in a system. Optisystem software will be used later on and will model and represent the effects and advantages using filter cascading to reduce crosstalk in a system.
