It must be understood by him, that he is no more expected to be simply an agent and the conservator of the traditions and culture of the society. The newly emerging expectations and aspirations of the Indian society enjoin upon the teacher that he make use of his powers, experiences, skills and discretions in such a manner, that a right sort of socialization within and outside the school situation is fostered by him. Therefore, teaching should be helpful to the child to adjust himself to his environment. The school can help the child to make successful adjustments, by developing healthy attitudes and right knowledge, to meet the environment with its growing complexities through teaching. Teaching can enable the child to equip himself with such habits, skills, attitudes and knowledge which he needs for a successful living in a complex environment.
