In particular, the ability of the country to develop its human assets will, in the long run, determine the kingdom's ultimate success in diversifying its economy away from oil. The purpose of this paper is to survey recent demographic trends in the Kingdom, especially as they affect the development of the nation's human resources. Based on this assessment several future scenarios are outlined.
