The goal of city logistics is to establish efficient, safe and environmentally friendly urban freight transport systems using advanced information communication technology. This book covers modelling, planning and evaluating city logistics measures including co-operative freight transport systems, consolidated city distribution centres, advanced vehicle routing and scheduling using intelligent transport systems, load factor controls, road pricing, intelligent parking controls, pickup points for e-commerce. Modelling and analysing the Planning and efficient management of city logistics schemes is essential because there are multiple stakeholders who are involved in urban freight transport issues. Therefore, public-private partnerships and other management methodology will be discussed. As well, the book contains several case studies of urban freight transport policies which have been already implanted in some cities in Europe, United States and the Asia Pacific region.
