Late aircraft deliveries are the principal reason we are behind in our testing schedule. This has impacted our ability to start Dedicated Initial Operational Test and Eval nation (diot&e) as originally planned in August 2002. While the Air Force is fully committed to cost control, we will not rush the start of diot&e. As the table below illustrates, we lost valuable testing time due to late aircraft deliveries. In some cases, aircraft first ight dates slipped by more than a year, placing increased pres sure on the test program.
