In their attempt to correctly spell a vowel sound, students often mix up, omit, or add extra letter sounds. The workbook is comprised of 15 units, with each unit teaching one vowel sound. In each unit, four strategies are utilized to teach the target vowel sound: word sorts; word families; look, say, cover, write, check; and word analysis. Each unit closes with two dictations that enable students to analyze and study spelling errors. The manual contains black line masters that can be photocopied for classroom use.
