Book excerpt: Theoretical predictions of wave growth by closure modelling have been hindered by the ambiguity about the interface conditions and the lack of knowledge of the dynamics of wave-turbulence interaction. The present experimental program was undertaken in an attempt to clarify the interface flow structure, as well as the closure relations, and to study the dynamic response of wave perturbations to the imposition of air modulations.
