Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The selection and design of aerosol removal equipment depend largely on knowledge of the size of the particle. In this work the distribution of particle sizes of aerosols of sulfuric, phosphoric, hydrochloric, hydrobromic, chlorosulfonic, and nitric acids was measured by means of a four-stage, high velocity jet impactor. The effect of the relative humidity of the air system, the addition of foreign nuclei, the concentration of the aerosol particles and time on the size distribution was studied.
