As proud as I was about being self-sufficient, I was brought to my knees when the doctor looked at me sadly and confirmed that I was infertile. I quickly found that this was one problem that I would not be able to solve on my own. Viewing God as a pseudo-Santa, I bartered for his good favor in my life. When that didn't work, I shook my fist at him and regaled him with all my good works. How could he deny me a child when I had been so good and thoughtful? It took me three agonizing years and the loss of a child before I understood what God wanted from me. I realized that God was more concerned about drawing me close to him in a true relationship than he was about giving me a child. While my desire for a child was important to him, he needed me to be totally dependent on him and to trust in him alone and not solely on medical procedures, technology or some new fad diet that promised fertility. No Bun in the Oven is my story of how I found faith in the worst of circumstances. My hope is that my testimony brings you comfort, hope, and encouragement to face the giants in your own life.
