In 2000 the total rev. of the largest 100 ag coops increased 7% to $70 bill., due to higher farm supply sales & service rev., & gross margins improved 7.5%. Net oper. margins soared 25%, to $933 mill. in 2000. Total net margins were down 14%; higher interest payments coupled with lower rev. from other non-oper. sources hurt the bottom line. Combined assets were valued at $29 bill., & nearly every cat. of assets increased in value.
