Most letters sent to Winston at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, with several conveying messages to Winston's associate R.W. Elliston. (1), an undated letter fragment (probably early 19th century) from G.C. Carr, refers to Louisa's engagements. (2), dated London, May 8th, 1806, is a request to appear at the theater next season, written in the third person from "A young lady whose theatrical abilities both in tragedy and comedy have been honored with the most flattering commendations" (correspondent also refers to herself as E.M. at Mr. Hutchings, Little Earl Street, Seven Dials). (3), dated Monday August 9, 1819, is a similar request from "A young lady of the first respectability." (4), dated Leicester, 10th September 1819 from J. Norton, concerns the terms he will accept, which he hopes Winston will relay to Mr. Elliston. (5), an undated letter from Marie Cubitt, informs Winston that she is too ill to come out that day and her "voice is quite gone."
