Lawrence on a comparative basis, determines the primary reasons for the success of their strategies, and decides which man contributed more to guerrilla warfare. It was concluded that the primary reasons for the success of strategies used by Mao and Lawrence were the popular support of the people, the lack of training and experience on the part of the enemy to counteract guerrilla warfare, and the circumstances of time and place. It was also concluded that Mao contributed more to guerrilla warfare, because he went into the political, military, and psychological spheres further than Lawrence.
