For example: the Eight Hour Law for Women, as originally passed, made no provision for its enforcement. It was practically doomed to remain a dead letter on our statute books. This bureau. And informed employers that it would take charge of the enforcement of the law and started a vigorous campaign, the effect of which was to fix in the minds of the employer the provisions of the law and the fact that it could not be violated with impunity.
